Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Introduction
LocalVoice ("we", "us") provides an on-device voice transcription application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Scope
This policy covers data collected by the Application and related cloud services (account, subscription). On-device processing does not transmit your speech or transcription to our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud features.
1. Data We Collect
Account Information: Email address and basic profile data when you sign up using email or third-party providers (Magic Link, GitHub, Google).
Usage & Diagnostics: App usage metrics, crash reports, and error logs (anonymized where possible). These help us improve stability and performance.
Billing: Payment transactions and invoices are processed by Paddle. We do not store full payment card data; the payment provider handles that.
Offline Activation: Offline activation keys include a machine identifier to bind a license to a device. Keys are generated by authorized tools and validated locally.
No Default Cloud Voice Storage: By default, voice recordings and transcripts are processed on-device and are not uploaded. LocalVoice does not use any analytics or telemetry that tracks individual typing or transcription content. 100% GDPR compliant.
2. How We Use Data
We use your data to operate and maintain the Application, manage subscriptions and billing, improve our products via aggregated anonymized analytics, send transactional messages (receipts, account notices), and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Data Sharing
Service Providers: We use third-party service providers (e.g., Paddle for payments). These providers process data on our behalf under contract.
Legal: We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations or protect rights.
Aggregated Data: We may share non-identifying aggregated metrics for analytics or business purposes.
4. Cookies and Tracking
Website pages may use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and session management. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and subscription information as long as necessary for the purposes described, or as required by law. You can request deletion subject to legal and operational constraints.
6. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data. No system is fully secure; please do not share sensitive personal data you do not want stored.
7. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in multiple jurisdictions. By using the Services you consent to cross-border transfer and storage of your information.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact fxassistance@foxmail.com to exercise these rights.
9. Children
The Application is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact us to request deletion.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted with an updated date.
